Our Accommodation Options
We understand that each person’s journey is unique, and we offer a range of NDIS supported accommodation options to suit different levels of care, independence and lifestyle goals.
Our accommodation types include:
- Short Term Accommodation NDIS – Ideal for a temporary break or to experience new environments while continuing to receive support. This also includes NDIS respite accommodation, offering families and carers time to rest and recharge.
- Medium Term Accommodation NDIS – Designed for participants who are transitioning between homes or waiting for a more permanent housing solution.
- NDIS Long Term Accommodation – Stable and secure housing designed for participants seeking ongoing care and support in a home-like environment.
- NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation – Purpose-built homes for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs, made available to DCV clients by our trusted SDA Collaborators.
- SIL Supported Independent Living – Participants can live as independently as possible with daily living support from a SIL support worker.

STA (Short-Term Accommodation) is temporary respite support, typically lasting from a few days to a few weeks. MTA (Medium-Term Accommodation) provides transitional housing for participants waiting on long-term arrangements. SIL (Supported Independent Living) is ongoing housing support for participants who need daily assistance to live independently in a shared or individual home. All three are NDIS-funded accommodation options and Disability Connect Victoria can assist with each.
STA, MTA and SIL are funded through different categories of the NDIS. STA is typically funded under the Core Supports budget, while SIL requires a separate SIL funding decision from the NDIA. Your support coordinator can assist with the process of applying for these supports. Yes, Disability Connect Victoria has a growing portfolio of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) properties designed for NDIS participants with high or very high support needs. Our SDA homes are purpose-built to meet NDIS design standards. If you have SDA funding approved in your plan, contact our team to discuss available properties and find the right home for your needs.
